About

  • I’m the founder of The Happy Skin Clinic, an independent skin practitioner based in North Shropshire.

My work centres on helping people understand how their skin behaves so they can care for it with greater confidence in everyday life. Rather than beginning with products or treatments, I start with understanding how skin naturally functions — how it responds, what it signals, and what helps it remain comfortable and resilient over time.

I hold regulated qualifications in anatomy and physiology, non-surgical skin procedures and advanced skin analysis, alongside a teaching qualification in adult education. This background has shaped a consultation style that is structured, practical and designed to help people apply what they learn at home.

Skin literacy developed from this combined experience — physiology first, education-led, and focused on helping individuals make calm, informed decisions about caring for their skin.

  • Before establishing The Happy Skin Clinic, I spent many years building and leading people-centred services across education, healthcare and large operational organisations.

Over time my focus moved increasingly towards skin health, where I became aware of how little clear, neutral guidance exists to help people understand how their skin functions in everyday life.

Today my work focuses on supporting people to understand their skin before deciding how best to care for it.

I am also the founder of The Skin Well, an advocacy project exploring how skin might be better represented within public health messaging, and the developer of The SkinChat Method, a structured framework used within my consultations.

  • Over time I became increasingly aware that many people feel uncertain about their skin. They are often given products or treatments, but rarely clear explanations of how their skin actually behaves or what it may be responding to in everyday life.

The approach I use today developed from that observation. My aim is not simply to provide treatments, but to help people understand their skin so they can care for it with greater confidence between visits.
