🗓️ Monthly Skin Care at a Glance

Cycle Phase Hormones & Symptoms Skincare Tip
Days 1–7
Period Phase
Low progesterone, oestrogen rising.
You may feel tired, sensitive, or introverted.
Spots may linger from the luteal phase.
Focus on calm. Use a gentle, non-stripping cleanser (not wipes or micellar water) and support desquamation with the enzyme mask - never a scrub. Moisturise daily or as per your tailored skincare plan, and apply SPF to prevent pigmentation and reduce flare-ups.
Days 7–14
Follicular Phase
Oestrogen rising and peaking.
Energy improves, skin glows, hair/nails strengthen.
Collagen production is supported.
Stick to your barrier-friendly basics - cleanse, moisturise, SPF. If your barrier is healthy, this is a great phase to introduce a skin-boosting serum or professional active.
Day 14
Ovulation
Oestrogen peaks, testosterone bumps.
You may feel vibrant, confident, social.
Skin may get slightly oilier.
Keep your routine clean, simple, and consistent. Don’t be tempted to add too much - your skin still needs kindness, not clutter.
Days 15–28
Luteal Phase
Progesterone rises, oestrogen drops.
Skin may feel oilier, congested, or breakout-prone.
Mood dips as oestrogen and serotonin fall.
Support cell turnover with the enzyme mask. Avoid picking or scrubbing - this can damage your barrier. Moisturise (yes, with your selected moisturiser - even if you're breaking out!), and use SPF daily to reduce post-inflammatory pigmentation. If breakouts persist, get in touch before using strong actives - they may worsen a compromised barrier.

Tip: Many people believe they break out “because of their period,” but breakouts usually begin in the luteal phase - before bleeding starts - due to rising progesterone. Oestrogen, which helps calm the skin, begins rising again once your period starts.
