Phase One

A Quiet Case and Open Letters

Welcome to Phase One

The Skin Well project began with a quiet question:

Why isn’t skin included in our national conversation about health?

From that starting point, three core ideas took shape — not as demands, but as observations:

  • That skin deserves to be included in public health messaging

  • That the Department of Health and Social Care should guide the training and standards of those who work with skin

  • That qualified skin therapists merit regulatory recognition for the essential care they provide

Phase One didn’t set out to make noise.

It set out to open a door.

These early scenarios and open letters were written to invite reflection — to gently show where skin falls through the gaps, and to build a foundation that later phases could develop with more structure, evidence, and collaboration.

From here, you can explore the pieces that Phase Two — and now Phase Three — continue to build upon:

A Case for National Skin Health
A scenario-led advocacy series spotlighting why skin deserves a place in public health.

Open Letters

 The Skin Well®
