These short leaflets explore how lifestyle and environmental factors — like sleep, stress, and air quality — can influence your skin. Each one includes trusted sources for further reading and shows clearly where public health guidance already exists.
When I began writing them for my own clients, I realised something important: while people can see a GP or dermatologist for a skin problem, skin care itself is missing from public health messaging altogether.
There is no shortage of information about skin — it’s a multi-billion-pound industry, with advice and products everywhere you look. But despite all that noise, the most important voices in health remain silent on everyday skin care. The NHS provides world-class treatment for skin conditions, wounds, and injuries, but prevention and daily care have been left to the cosmetic sector. That shift has blurred the line between health and beauty, leaving a gap where clear, evidence-based public guidance should be.
The Happy Skin Leaflets begin to bridge that gap. They connect everyday life with what we already know from trusted research, and they highlight where public health guidance could — and should — include skin.
For quick, actionable advice drawn from the same evidence, you can also explore the Flashcards — bite-sized habits that support your skin day to day.
